• Starting the Game
  • Select the PLAY button in the center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • Below the PLAY button there is a CREDITS button. The upper right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for sound and music control.

    • Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing either the W key or the up arrow key.
    • Press the down arrow key to switch between characters. Characters must be standing on a switchable platform to be able to switch.
    • Press X to shoot fire at a purple box, so that you may exchange places with it.
    • Press the R key to restart a level.

    • Characters
      • The goal of this game is to ensure the characters make it onto the flagged platform at the end of each stage without dying.
        • Most stages contain both characters, but some of the later stages only have the fire twin.
      • On most stages you control one of the twins at any time, though on a couple stages you move both at the same time.
        • On areas where you only move one of them you can see which one is active by them being brighter.
        • You can switch between characters when the character you are switching from is on one of the small switching platforms.
    • Features
      • Water – the ice twin turns these water blocks to ice, which then allows the fire twin to walk across them. If the fire twin touches a water block when it is in water state that results in an immediate death.
      • Lava – the fire twin can walk over lava, but if the ice twin touches it the ice twin immediately dies.
      • Ice cubes – either twin can stand on them, but they quickly melt when the fire twin stands on them.
        • Bodies of water can be repeatedly frozen.
        • Free standing ice cubes floating in space can not be recreated without simply starting the level over again.
      • Shrubs – when the fire twin es them they light on fire.
        • You can’t put the fire out & if the ice twin touches a fire it dies.
      • Purple X boxes – you can use these to teleport across a level, with the fire twin moving to where the box was & the box moving to where the fire twin was.
      • Platforms – small platforms like the one you stand on at the start of each level can be used to stand on to switch which twin you have active control over.
      • Buttons – step on buttons to temporarily open gates. Set a purple X box on a button to leave it activated.
      • Gates – can be opened or closed by activating buttons.
  • Levels
    • This game has 18 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win by getting the twins safely to the ending platform with the red flag on it.
      • You lose if:
        • the fire twin touches water
        • the water twin touches fire, lava, or an active version of the fire twin
      • This game offers unlimited continues starting you at the beginning of the level you failed.
      • If you make a mistake and accidentally waste a fire shot that is needed to move a purple box or melt a needed floating ice platform select the R key to play again.
  • Tips
    • In most cases you typically want the ice twin to go ahead of the fire twin.
      • The worst case scenario is the ice twin creates more ice than needed.
      • The worst case scenario if the fire twin goes first is you may melt a needed ice platform, or catch shrubs on fire in a way that makes it hard for the ice twin to .
    • Most levels require you to go back and forth at least a few times.
      • Consider which small platforms players can stand on when considering break points for character switching.
      • Avoid catching something on fire in a way that blocks the path.
        • Try to have the fire character jump or fall off platform as needed to avoid accidentally melting ice platforms & lighting too many brush squares in a row on fire.
    • Controlling both characters at once
      • When you control both characters at once you do not want to let them touch each other or they will die.
      • If you want to increase or decrease the distance between the twins you can use the walls on the sides of platforms of different heights to have one character get stuck while the other character is able to move horizontally.
    • X box usage
      • If an X box is atop of a switch on a platform that moves you do not want to let that platform move or else the X box will fall off.
      • You can stack X boxes on top of each other.
      • You can only catch an X box by shooting across a flat horizontal shot, however the X box switches positions with you wherever you are when the fire reaches the X box.
        • You can shoot fire from a long distance, then climb up another platform to get that X box onto another vertical platform height, so then you can move it again as needed to activate a switch.
        • This tip is vital for beating some of the later stages like 16 and 18.
