• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY GAME button on the welcome screen to load the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen has a sound control button under the play button.

    • Press the up arrow key to move up a square.
    • Press the left arrow key to move left a square.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right a square.
    • You can’t move down.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The level number is shown in the upper left corner.
    • The remaining time to beat the current level is shown top center.
    • The upper right corner has a pause button.
      • When the game is paused it reveals a menu with buttons to restart the level, go back to the level select screen, or resume play.
    • The level select screen shows a checkmark over a gold icon for beat levels & a lock on levels which have not yet been unlocked.

  • Basics
    • This is a cartoonish cross the road game inspired by that intrepid frog Frogger.
    • You have a time limit to beat each stage & can not move down.
    • In between each move your frog waits a fraction of a second before you can make the next move.
    • Avoid hazards and enemies and cross the finish line on time to unlock the next level.
  • Enemies & hazards
    • Cars are oblivious to frogs. If you run into them or they hit you then you’ll die.
    • Eagles fly from side to side seeking out delicious frogs.
    • Some parts of the streams have water current marker lines on them. If you jump over those a large fish will eat you.
    • While the water is technically not an enemy, if you fall into it you die.
    • Some fences, shrubs, and rocks can block your path, which when combined with an inability to walk backward get you stuck until the timer runs out.
  • Levels
    • This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • Each level has a unique level layout and time limit.
        • Levels grow more complex as you get deeper into the game.
        • The first level has a 25-second time limit, and the final level has a 70-second time limit.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by safely crossing the finish line before the timer runs out.
      • You lose if you run into an enemy or run out of time.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, allowing you to select whichever level you wish from the level select screen.
  • Tips
    • Each time you face a level the rows of enemies will have the same basic pattern, meaning you can memorize your journey or portions thereof.
      • Some streets will have cars coming almost immediately from both directions.
      • Some streets will have 3 cars in a row come from a particular direction.
    • In some cases the level design is set up to force you to wait a long period of time for boards on water to cross each other.
      • In some cases if you dead sprint one direction or the other right off the start you can meet the boards near the edges of the level and cross them without needing to wait through the long delay.
    • Cars can hit you from either side if you are in the middle of the road.
    • You can use the shadow of the birds to determine which horizontal row they are in.
