• Starting the Game
  • Press anywhere on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The upper right corner has buttons for settings and game developer information.
    • The settings button allows you to control game volume & reset game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left by pressing the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing the up arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left of the screen.
      • The A button in the lower right of the screen jumps.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper right corner has buttons for restarting the current level & pausing the game.
      • When the game is paused there are overlay menu buttons for resuming play, skipping the current level, controlling game sound, controlling game music, and return to the welcome screen.

  • Basics
    • This is a gem collecting game where you have to collect all the gems present on each stage and then exit by reaching the flag.
      • Most stages have 3 gems, though some have 4 or 5.
      • The exit flag is red off the start of the stage & turns green after you have collected all the gems.
    • Balances
      • You can use balances as temporary platforms.
      • When you stand on one side it falls downward and the other side moves up.
      • You can jump from side to side back and forth to control relative platform heights.
    • Lights
      • In the final quarter of the game most levels start off dark, making it hard to see everything.
      • You can light up portions of stages by walking into the torches or lamps.
      • Once lit a torch remains lit throughout the remainder of the play for that level.
      • You are not required to light all the lights to beat stages with lights on them, though lighting them can make it easier to find stray gems & ensure you are less likely to fall off platform.
    • Hazards
      • Running into any hazards causes an instant death.
      • The red spikes are typically stationary, though on some levels later in the game some of them move.
      • Some stages have green snakes which move at a regular speed around platforms.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win by collecting all the gems on each stage & then making it to the flag.
        • The flag starts off as red & turns green when all gems have been collected.
      • You lose by running into a red spike or a green snake.
        • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of any failed level.
      • If you get stuck you can press the level restart button in the upper right corner to reload the level you are playing with you at the position you were in when the level started.
  • Tips
    • Balances
      • Balances are the most unique part of the game, as they are the only part of the level which interacts with you based on your movements.
      • If a balance is too close to spikes or the ceiling you may need to ride it lower to jump off of it while avoiding with objects above you.
      • Some balances require running off of them onto another balance or platform rather than jumping.
    • Gems
      • Some levels are impossible to beat if you collect the gems in the wrong order.
      • As a general rule of thumb try to get whatever is easily accessible & whatever is high up first, and avoid falling downward through areas you can’t climb back out of until after you collected everything else.
      • Some gems require you to jump off a balance to grab them & quickly jump back onto the balance before its elevation changes too much.
    • Snakes
      • On most stages you want to move the same direction the snake is going rather than moving against it.
        • There is one exception late in the game where you must go counterflow to pick up a gem & then run back.
      • Snakes move at a regular speed, making it easy to time your movements around them.
        • Avoid falling onto a snake by ensuring it has just about turned the corner before you fall down a thin ageway where it was.
      • If two snakes move at different speeds on nearby platforms you can wait for the snakes to come into alignment to make it safer to traverse those platforms.
