• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button in the lower center of the welcome screen to start the game.
  • When you first play the game offers a brief tutorial.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Side tiles left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Slide tiles right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Slide tiles up by pressing the W key or the up arrow key.
    • Slide tiles down by pressing the S key or the down arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the 4 buttons in the bottom center to push tiles up, down, left, or right.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your current game score is shown at the top center of the screen.

    • The game of 2048 offers a 4×4 grid where you merge tiles of the same value when they slide into each other.
    • Each time tiles merge they create a tile worth double the amount.

  • Easy game
    • There are many variations of 2048. Things which can vary include:
      • playing field size
      • types of new pieces that appear
      • ability to push in any direction
      • keep or clear 2048
    • This game uses a standard 4×4 grid.
    • Some games show 2 and 4 pieces when you slide pieces across the grid, though this game only shows pieces valued at 2.
    • Some games force you to move in a direction where there is at least some tile movement. This game allows you to push tiles toward a corner where there is no relative movement from existing tiles & only a new tile which enters the board from the opposite side.
    • In this game when you reach 2048 your score is set to 2048 and you get another clean board to build from.
  • Scoring
    • Your score is the sum of the value of the tiles you merge.
    • If you make it up to being able to create a 2048 tile your game score will be somewhere around 19,000 to 20,000.
      • When you reach 2048 the board is cleared & your score is reset to 2048.
      • You then add the score from your next play to the starting score of 2048.
  • Tips
    • In general it helps to try to keep your highest valued tiles along one side & then keep moving other tiles around in that general direction or orthogonally to it so that you can make larger tiles.
    • In some cases you’ll need to move away from that side to make large tiles merge together, but after switching your primary side you should try to reorganize quickly so that the dominant side does not have any low value tiles on it.
    • When you are almost out of space look for which direction you can move to allow another 2 to enter the field near another 2 tile & what direction you can move to set up a chain reaction so you clear out more space.
