• Starting the Game
  • Press the white and orange button on the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The upper left corner of the welcome screen has a sound control button.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the D key or the right arrow key to move right a square.
    • Press the S key or the down arrow key to move down a square.
    • Press the A key or the left arrow key to move left a square.
    • Press the W key or the up arrow key to move up a square.
    • Press the spacebar to shoot.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The 4 directional movement buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
      • The shoot button is in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The top center of the screen shows the current level number.
    • The upper right corner has buttons for restarting the current level and going back to the level select screen.
    • The level select screen shows unlocked levels in white and locked levels in gray.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to clear all the enemies from each stage without getting shot by an enemy or running over spikes.
      • Most enemies do not move.
      • All fire from you or enemies is in the direction the shooter is facing.
    • Spikes
      • Squares with 4 holes in them have spikes on them.
      • When you step on the square with spikes the spikes do not come out.
      • You can also shoot on the squares with spikes without the spikes coming out.
      • When you step off of a square with spikes the spikes come out and you can never cross that square again.
  • Enemies
    • Orange – they do not move & do not shoot.
    • Green – they do not move and shoot at you.
    • Red – they are similar to green enemies, except they can also follow you up or down, and can move up or down a row to evade your shots.
  • Turn-based system
    • Whenever you shoot any enemy with a weapon may shoot in the direction they are facing.
    • After you shoot both the green and red enemies have a count shown above them indicating how many turns you have until they can shoot again (typically they will shoot again whenever you are aligned with them, or whenever you take a shot).
    • Physical square movements count as a turn, though shots do not.
  • Levels
    • This game has 12 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by safely clearing all the enemies from the stage.
      • You lose a level if you get hit by a shot or run into spikes.
  • Tips
    • When fighting green or enemies you can shoot at a wall while not aligned with them to activate their counts before they will shoot, then move inline with them to shoot them.
    • When your path requires you to cross spikes to reach an enemy and there is not a way back to the prior portion of the stage be sure the portion of the stage you can no longer access does not have any enemies in it.
    • If enemies are far away you can take a shot that puts you at risk of getting hit so long as you quickly move up or down after shooting, so that you are out of the way of the bullet.
    • In general it is best to activate the shooting countdown when you are facing the direction you want to shoot and are only 1 cell above or below your enemy, so that you are aligned with them to shoot on your next move. If their count enables them to shoot on your next move you may need to move around vertically in the wrong direction and back (or move horizontally and back) so that they have a higher count when you directly encounter them.
    • Be sure you are facing the correct direction before crossing over spikes. If you face the wrong way it may either throw your shot count off or have you have to make a precisely timed shoot and run to hit enemies without getting hit.
