• Starting the Game
  • Press any key on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels.
  • The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for erasing game data & playing more games.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left by pressing the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing the up arrow key.
    • Freeze the level layout by pressing the C key.
    • Shoot a bullet by pressing the X key.
  • Touchscreen devices

  • Basics
    • This is a room escape game where you must make it to the level exit at the end of each stage.
      • You must avoid running into lasers or spikes located throughout the stages.
        • Spikes are stationary.
        • Laser beams can come from above or below. The direction of the laser beam with a gray base near it is where the beam originates from.
      • As you progress through the game challenges get harder, requiring more creative use of the pause mechanism & more tightly timed jumps.
    • Freeze frame
      • You can freeze all objects on the screen (other than yourself).
      • This enables you to do things like:
        • create a temporary platform from a box
        • create a set of stairs out of a series of boxes
        • use boxes to block laser beams
        • keep a bullet above, under, or to the side of a laser beam so you can safely unscathed
    • Boxes
      • Stepping on red buttons causes boxes to fall down.
      • Some stages have multiple box drops controlled by a single button, whereas other stages make each box drop location controlled by a different button.
    • Shooting bullets
      • You can shoot bullets after picking them up.
        • Wherever a bullet appears you will get another one in the same location after the first bullet has run into something.
      • On some stages you need to ride atop the bullets to a destination, whereas on other stages you need to use the bullet as cover from lasers above, repeatedly pausing & restarting the bullet as you under it across the course of multiple lasers.
        • Some stages have a mixed layout where you ride atop a bullet to cross a chasm then walk under it to under a laser.
        • One stage requires you have 2 parallel bullets fired, where you are standing on one to cross over spikes & have the other bullet above you to block laser beams.
  • Levels
    • This game has 24 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it to the exit door.
      • You lose if you run into spikes or lasers.
      • In some cases if you make an error with a bullet or box and get stuck in an area with no way out you can run into something that will kill you to restart the level.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the level you lost.

      • Below are general tips for the key game aspects.
    • Jumping
      • When you freeze boxes near the top of the level sometimes it makes sense to freeze them a bit lower down so you do not hit your head on the ceiling when jumping off them.
      • Most jumps you perform allow you to clear a couple blocks of height. In some cases you need to only lightly tap the jump button to jump lower.
      • The final stage is quite hard in that it combines the need to make vertical jumps (where you jump out then back up and onto the same wall as you climb it) along with jumps over spikes (where the ceiling is low & hitting your head off the ceiling leads to certain death as you run into the spikes).
    • Pausing
      • If there are a sequence of buttons near each other typically you need to run across the whole series of them consecutively then pause the screen to create a set of stairs.
      • If there is a single button to press and you have to block multiple lasers you may need to run back and forth over the same button multiple times before pausing.
      • If you need to get 2 bullets in parallel it helps to stand back at the far edge of where you can shoot from to shoot then pause, pick up the second bullet, and then stand a bit more forward to unfreeze, shoot the second shot, and then pause again.
      • If you need to time two different items where one goes before the other time the first item way early so that you can move toward the other, unpause time, activate the second, then have the first item be in position when the second item is.
        • An example would be activating a switch with a box dropping & then pause when the box is near the very top of the screen.
        • Next climb platforms go over & grab a bullet, unpause time to shoot, repause time to jump onto the bullet, and then repause when the box is in position to block the laser.
      • If in doubt with timing it is better to pause early than pausing late.
        • If you pause too early you can cycle through another round of unpausing & repausing, but if you pause too late you can’t reverse time.
    • Shooting
      • Some bullets have to go through narrow ages.
        • Many bullets require you go beneath them, many others require you ride atop them, and some require you do both on the same bullet through different portions of the level.
        • When you are able to shoot from a standing platform and accomplish all your goals then it is best to shoot while standing.
        • Most shots require you to jump, shoot just short of your jump peak, then ride the bullet.
        • When considering your bullet height if you ride it you also have to fit through the gaps in the course & you also need to shoot at a height which allows you to easily walk or jump to the exit.
      • If you make an error with your shot height let the bullet run into a wall so you get another bullet and then shoot again.
