• Starting the Game

  • Basics
    • This is a simple path making game which is turn-based.
      • The goal is to make it to the tile with the checkered flag.
      • Each time you make a move some other aspects of the stage may change.
    • Level features are described in the next section.
  • Features
    • Monsters – these move on a fixed path and move one cell each time you move.
      • Touching them leads to an instant death.
      • You often have to time your moves so that you are moving onto a square the monster is already on & they are moving off it as you move onto it.
    • Spikes – these cause death if touched.
      • On many stages these are fixed and need to be outright avoided.
      • On some stages there are red buttons which you can press to cause the spikes to temporarily retract for your next 6 moves.
    • Red buttons – when you step on these the spikes will retract for the next 6 moves you make.
      • You can repeatedly step on buttons to traverse different portions of the stages.
    • Spikers – these have 2 spiked arms sticking out and rotate 90 degrees clockwise every time you make a move.
    • Ice – stepping on ice has you move in the direction you moved onto the ice until you land on a square that is something other than ice.
    • Push blocks – these push you an extra step in the direction the arrow points without costing you a move.
  • Levels
    • This game has 36 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a stage by safely making it to the exit checkered flag cell.
      • You lose if you run into a monster or another obstacle.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of any failed level.
  • Tips
    • Levels are not timed, so take your time when figuring them out.
      • Be careful not to move too quickly so you don’t accidentally fall off course.
      • You can track a monster’s path from far away to see where it’s boundaries are before it switches directions and how many squares across it moves.
      • If you are stuck on a stage work backward from the exit to plan your route.
    • Back and forth
      • This game often requires a lot of backtracking.
      • If you are out of sync with spikers you often need to walk into a push block (even walking against its direction) to adjust your movements to put them in sync with the spiker you need to cross near.
      • One often needs to take a circuitous route to time ing areas congested with monsters.
    • Ice
      • Be sure to only enter ice squares from a square where there is something on the other side (be it a grass square, a retracted spike square, or a push block) as otherwise it will push you right off the course.
      • When pressing red buttons to retract spikes so you can cross the cells they are on you often need to move rather efficiently, combining push squares and ice to make the most of your limited 6 moves before the spikes come back out.
