• Starting the Game
  • Click the PLAY button on the game’s welcome screen to start the game.

• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • While your mouse left click button is pressed drag in a direction to move in that direction.

• Game Play
  • Moving
    • You can move a square at a time, or multiple squares at a time.
    • In general if you are moving perpendicular to centipedes you should be careful to only move a square at a time.
    • If you are moving parallel to centipedes you can be more aggressive moving multiple squares at once.
    • The playing filed is six squares wide by 5 squares tall. This means the game is slightly easier when centipedes come from the top or bottom than if they come from the sides because it gives you more options to move.
  • Gems
    • Collect crystal gems to earn points.
      • Each crystal gem is worth a point.
      • Crystal gems are white, purple or ruby in color.
      • Gems appear momentarily then quickly disappear. Anticipate their disappearance and try to go for gems which are close by which recently appeared.
    • Do not collect homeworld gems or else you will lose points.
      • Each homeworld gem takes a point from your total.
      • Homeword gems can be distinguished by a red glow around them.
      • If you have a choice between potentially getting hit or collecting a homeworld gem then collect the homeworld gem.
  • Dying
    • Avoid getting hit by a centipede. If you get hit once you die
    • Centipedes enter the screen and travel in a straight horizontal or vertical line.
      • A red bar appears in the row or column the centipede will travel. Avoid stepping in that area until the centipede has left.
      • Centipedes may move forward clear across the course and out the other side, or go part way across then come back
      • Initially only one centipede will appear on each round, then as you progress there will be more centipedes which come at once.
        • The spot where a red line appears is the path the centipede will travel down.
        • All centipedes in a round travel in the same orientation (across or vertically) with the orientation changing periodically.
        • When multiple centipedes appear some may enter at the top while others may enter at the bottom & some may enter at the left while others may enter at the right.
        • Eventually 4 centipedes will come during each round. That gives you 2 lanes you can walk in if they are vertical and only a single lane you can wall in if they are horizontal.
        • The centipedes change directions they come from periodically, but do not change orientation after every round.
        • As you advance the game gets harder as there are more ways to die & fewer spots to stand to not get hit.
    • Powering up
      • You can collect the ruby red gem with a spinning circular glow around it to have a protective shield around you.
      • This acts similarly to a mushroom in Super Mario Bros., giving you an extra hit.
      • You can only get one power up at a time. More will not appear until you get hit. Collecting another one will restore your protective bubble.
