Beginning the game
Select any of the two niches in the temple to challenge a god.
You can challenge one god among the two.
Gods are drawn at random. Your starting selection of gods in each playthrough will vary.
Select Battle to begin the challenge or Back to return to the temple.
After you beat one god, you have the option of challenging the other one from before or a new god.
Basic rules
You begin with 2 empty plinths.
Select a tile from your draw pile.
Drag and drop the tiles from your draw pile to the plinths.
You automatically draw 3 tiles at random.
Each time you deploy a tile, you receive 3 more.
Tiles are refreshed regularly, but they are determined at random.
The turn begins when both plinths have a tile.
Once the turn starts, the tiles are flipped over.
The rules for the tiles follow rock-paper-scissors (also known as Rochambeau or Jankenpon).
Rock beats scissors
Scissors beats paper
Paper beats rock
The outcome of the rounds are as follows:
If both of a player’s tiles win, they deal 2 hearts of damage to their opponent.
If only one player’s tiles win and the other is a draw, they deal 1 heart of damage.
If both tiles are a draw, neither player deals damage.
Repeat the process until one of the players runs out of hearts.
On the end screen are the following options:
If you win, select Continue on top to proceed to the temple and choose the next god.
If you lose the game, the option to return to the temple is called Back.
Select Restart to challenge the same god again.
Hearts
You and your opponent begin with five hearts.
Each time you deal damage, your opponent loses between 1 and 2 hearts, and vice versa.
The first player to lose all their hearts loses the match.
Strategy
Each of the gods has a particular strategy they favor that you would often only pick up after challenging them several times.
Some gods, for instance, favor a specific type of tile.
Other gods are much harder to figure out.
It is important to find out the strategy over the course of play to turn the tables on the god, as they will not change their strategy at all in the middle of play.
Target Audience
The game is suited for players who like Rochambeau card games.
